When I was told about this amazing product from Brazil I really felt a little sceptical. How could Acai Berry Powder be only one product and secondly, how could it produce so many results? I was not looking for a quick fix to my weight problem but I did want something that worked. After trying so many different options I had realised that it was going to be a long term process and very much a change in life style.

So, having time on my hands I decided to do some research. I felt that if the claims were accurate then myself and a lot of friends would also benefit. My first objective was to find the best and most suitable type of Acai Fruit. I could understand that fresh fruit was not an option so this lead me to the process of freeze drying. This process is nowadays used to dehydrate fruits using high technology. It is highly suitable for perishable products that are highly sensitive to heat, like acai.

The benefits of freeze dried products is that they have higher concentrations of nutrients than other processes.  The process of freeze drying retains the ORAC value (Oxygen Radical Absorbance Capacity) which is an indication of the antioxidant capacity of different foods and supplements. It also allows storage at room temperature without using any form of preservatives.  The freeze dried version contains one of the highest ORAC scores with around 102,000 for every 100 grams of powder and that is off the scale! Wow! Fresh cranberries for example score a mere 9,500, while Goji berries come in at around 25,000. Freeze drying is definitely the preferred method to receive the maximum Acai benefits.

Just to let you know that it’s not that other forms of the wonder fruit are bad really, it’s simply that freeze drying the product is by far the best.  It is the best way to make sure you’re getting the best quality in acai products so be sure to look for acai in capsule or as acai berry powder.
